Born in Warwickshire, England, he attended high school in West Kirby, Cheshire. Living on Merseyside in the 1960s were exciting times and he joined a group as drummer - playing at the famous Liverpool Cavern Club three times. Graduating from Leeds University Dental School in 1972, ( currently the only Leeds graduate in B.C.) he spent a year working for the local health authority running a children's clinic in Hemsworth, South Yorkshire. He then worked in general dental practice based in York for two years followed by a further two years in Beverley, East Yorkshire. Disenchanted with the standard of care in the National Health service at that time, he emigrated to Canada in 1977 and spent his first two years in B.C. working in Abbotsford. By now with a young family, he decided to raise them in Victoria and took over at his current practice which was started initially in 1975 by Dr. Roger Brown, who ironically was moving back to England. Since 1979 Dr. Northeast likes to believe he has been meeting the dental needs of many James Bay residents (and many from outside areas as well!). Outside of the office his current hobbies are DIY and home improvement, two old English cars (and by old he means 1927 and 1934), lots of cricket during the summer months playing for Metchosin CC (Weekend league) and Sidney Stonewallers ( Midweek league). In an attempt to keep fit he ran his first half marathon in 2010! His wife, Anne, is also well known in James Bay where for 30 years she worked as an RN at James Bay Care Centre. Nick and Anne have two adult children, Jeremy ( Anne ) and Charlotte ( Damon ). They also have two grandchildren in Victoria, Imani and Maxwell.

Joanne is an important asset to the smooth operation of the office, known for her encyclopaedic knowledge of nearly everyone who lives in James Bay! A keen animal lover, Joanne and her partner, Peter enjoy their pet birds and “Winston” the Holland lop rabbit."

A true “Victorian” born to an English father and South African mother, Marion graduated from Victoria High School and later trained at Camosun College qualifying in 1995 as a Certified Dental Assistant. In 1997 she came to work at our office and in 2001 upgraded her skills with the prosthodontic module which means she can do some of the hands on procedures during crown and bridge treatment. A recent house move has kept Marion and husband Gordon busy in their spare time, as does their daughter, Ella. When time allows, they enjoy family camping trips with their travel trailer.

| Angelika Koch Another native Victorian "Angie" has been our hygienist since August 2005 and is proud of her gentle cleaning techniques. She first graduated from Camosun College in 1993 as a Certified Dental Assistant, and then practiced for 10 years here in Victoria. Deciding to further her education, she returned to college full time for another 3 years to become a Registered Dental Hygienist. Graduating in 2005 from The College of New Caledonia in Prince George, she then moved back to Victoria, joined our team, and has been here ever since. Living in Fernwood, Angie takes full advantage of the close proximity to her work here in James Bay and enjoys either biking or walking to work everyday. She figures, not only is it good exercise, but it also supports her ideas of helping to improve the environment. Since moving into their 1923 Fernwood home in 2007, there have been no shortages of mini projects and renovations to do although her new found interest of gardening has been a pleasure. She enjoys patiently nurturing and watching her weed garden slowly transform into a flower garden and hopes to one day try her hand at a vegetable garden. When not working on her Fernwood home, she and partner Iain, love to go camping in their classic 1974 Boler trailer. |
